Tatyana Zhuk has been praised by students, parents, and artistic collaborators for her rare ability to inspire passionate love of music and music education. After many years of rigorous study and successful practice of American and Russian schools of music education, Ms. Zhuk is able to draw freely from each to synthesize a customized learning approach that works best for the individual student.
Students of all ages come to Tatyana to make the first steps or rediscover the joys of playing piano and gain mastery of their singing voice. Whether your goal is as modest as being able to play and sing a simple tune at a forthcoming party or as ambitious as having your child admitted to a prestigious specialized school years from now, Tatyana will confidently and skillfully guide you to accomplishing your objectives.
A highly experienced piano and voice coach and an in-demand accompanist, Ms. Zhuk has been teaching music and collaborating with a number of outstanding music instructors and singers. Most recently she has accompanied for the late Maestro Daniel Ferro’s students. A passionate promoter of music education and appreciation among children and adults alike, in June 2015, Tatyana and her students have hosted a series of free “Rising Stars” concerts at the Brooklyn Public Library in Brooklyn, NY. Ms. Zhuk has successfully prepared dozens of students for admission to the most competitive specialized middle and high schools in New York City including The Bay Academy for the Arts and Sciences, Mark Twain Middle School for Gifted and Talented, Stuyvesant High School, LaGuardia High School for Performing Arts, and Brooklyn Tech High School.
In 2014, Ms. Zhuk joined her long-time collaborator American-Cuban soprano and music professor Mayda Prada to work on a summer master program and promote Russian music repertoire among young Mexican opera singers in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Tatyana Zhuk holds a Masters and Bachelor degrees in Music Education, Piano Performance, and Voice Instruction from Kiev State Pedagogical University, Kiev, Ukraine. Tatyana fluently speaks English, French, Russian, and Ukrainian.
